With just two days to go I thought it was time for a little pre race blog. Since my last blog I've managed to start running again, and equally pleased that I managed 5.5 miles off road this week.
The Mumbles Duathlon event will be the first event of this type which I have competed in, and I'm really looking forward to the challange. I've entered the long course which is
- 5k Run
- 30k Bike
- 5k Run
I'm hoping to complete the course in 2hr 30m, and this is based on completing the 5k's in approx 30min, including transition time. This target isn't meant to be a world record, but its a personal challenge for me, which is why I like this sport.
Amanda and the kids are helping out on the day which I'm really pleased about as they get to see me, and help which should make the time go a little quicker.
My next blog will be a the race report seen through my eyes.
Many thanks for reading
Andrew
Good luck Andrew, I will be shouting words of encouragement from the sidelines. I am sure you will smash it mate.
ReplyDeleteP.S. 40? You do know your meant to count the leap years too? ;-)
Thanks Rob, I do hope so, it's been a rough couple of weeks to get here. Bloody injury always seem to crop up just before an event, I know how frustrated you must be feeling at the moment, keep the faith not long and your training will focus on llanelli tri.
